Family Legends

You not only find your lineage when researching the family tree, but you also find a lot of interesting stories that should be shared. You can read some of the stories I have found about my family at my other weblogs www.questionsandancestors.blogspot.com or at www,growingthefamilytree.blogspot.com.

There you can read about my ancestors like Indian Jane Hubbard who was adopted by Ann Crews Hubbard, and Reverend Duncan who was beheaded by the Jacobites, or Ancient Planter William Hancock, who was killed by Indians in Jamestown. There are lots more stories to read and more on the way, and who knows we may have some common ancestors...

There is even more to read in my Facebook and Google Plus pages where I publish my sources and notes.

Planting the family tree.

Been busy researching and building the family tree for the past few months. Found some great genealogy sites that have been very useful in this project. You can access my genealogy links for your own research from my new blog. www.growingthefamilytree.blogspot.com.

Some of my favorite genealogy sites are www.geni.com, www.wikitree.com, www.ancestry.com and www.familysearch.org. Check them out if you want to start your own tree or just publish it so distant cousins can find you.

One thing I have learned from this project is... It IS a small world after all...

Some of my distant cousins include Prince William, Lady Diana, Queen Elizabeth, William the Conqueror, and George Washington.
